This four-way stretch Modal (Tencel™) 4 x 2 rib knit fabric is an environmental friendly choice for knit fabric. This fabric is very soft and smooth. It has a fluid drape with good recovery. It is suitable for making lightweight sweaters, cardigans, tops, tanks and accessories.

Modal comes from beech trees cultivated in sustainable forestry plantations. Modal production requires 20x less water than cotton cultivation and 4x less arable land. It is also more breathable than cotton.

Modal fibres are dimensionally stable and do not shrink or get pulled out of shape when wet like many rayons. They are also wear resistant and strong while maintaining a soft, silky feel. Even after repeated washing, modal remains absorbent, soft and supple.
